Christmas 1914 box - with engraved image of Princess Mary in centre with border decoration listing the allied countries around the edge; Imperium Britannicum, Japan, Belgium, Russia, Monte Negro, Servia, France. Box would have contained cigarettes & chocolate for the Troops at Christmas time 1914. Box contains small Christmas card from The Princess Mary and Friends at Home with Best Wished for a Happy Christmas and a Victorious New Year, with photograph insert of Princess Mary. Letter accompanying box indicates that the donor was a boy sailor on the Conqueror in 1914, when Princess Mary presented these boxes to servicemen at Christmas 1914.
