Description
Water Bottle. As issued to the Ulster Volunteer Force. Circular, metal covered with khaki felt, web carrying strap held by 3 eyes. Marked in black "NY / 50" and on the strap "268". Intially the Ulster Volunteers had little uniform. They paraded in ordinary clothes with the addition of belts and haversacks. By winter of 1913, the volunteers had received a list of equipment that should be purchased that included; water bottles, army boots, rifle slings etc.
