Description
A smoking cap of fine bright red wool, with a repeating pattern of appliqued leaves, couched fine braid and hand emboidery.The leaves are appliqued of fine black silk velvet, the braid is green and yellow, with hand sewn details picked out in shades of green and cream. The cap has been created from one circle of cloth expertly darted and with one seam, to create the effect of a shallow domed cap. At the centre of the crown is attched a covered button in green and yellow thread, from which hangs an elobrately knotted fringed tassle of green cotton and yellow silk thread. The cap is lined with red cotton, machine quilted.
