- Large egg basket with round shape and flat base with deep sides. Basket is made using willow rods. Original handle is wanting but replacement handle consisting of two twisted lengths of old flax. This basket came from the kitchen of a home in Comber. It belonged to the Kane family. Collecting eggs was usually considered the women's work and to look after the hens. Surplus eggs could be sold at market for women's 'egg money.'
