Description
1900-1910 woman's blouse of cream linen decorated on the collar, yoke and sleeves with tape/ braid lace. Centre back fastening, small mother of pearl buttons. Mandarin collar, upper portion of bodice yoke and insertions on blouse front of tape (braid lace) worked by hand, with decorative filling stitches. The lower section of the leg-of-mutton style sleeves is also worked in tape lace. The upper section of each sleeve features a number of pintucks, machine stitched. Narrow cotton tape ties at the waist allow for some adjustment in wear. Apart from the tape lace, the blouse is machine sewn.
