Ireland - Description
- One of four matching horn spoons, with slightly curved spatula handles. Horn spoons were common in Irish rural homes in the nineteenth century. These spoons and other items such as cups or beakers were easily made from cattle horn. Once heated they could be moulded into shape. They were durable and waterproof. A useful utensil to have for those who couldn't afford silver or pewter cutlery.
