- In May 2020, George Floyd was stopped by four policemen in Minnesota. While three officers looked on, Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck until he died. The Black Lives Matter movement gained international attention and millions of people participated in global protests. Chauvin was later convicted of Floyd's murder.
