Belfast - Description
- Lantern slide produced by Hogg for an exhibition in 1918 ‘of our men at the front.' This slide shows an image of a man in a suit. He has been identified as Lance-Corporal James McCann, 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. McCann died on 1st July 1916 at the Battle of the Somme. According to a letter from a friend he was hit 3 or 4 times but the stomach wound he received was the fatal one. James was picked up by the stretcher bearers but died on the way to the dressing station.
