Description

This is one of a number of sculptures utilizing circles and triangles as the structural elements of the composition which Annesley produced from about 1965. His use of colour to suggest fluidity in the structural elements in these works was much influenced by the work of the painters Joseph Albers (1888-1976) and Kenneth Noland (b.1924) both of whom used a fixed format in which to explore different colour values. Thus, like many of Annesley's works, "1968/8-2" was made in an edition of three, each with a different range of colours. This is the second of the three versions.
