- Knee length skirt elasticated waist with basque of double layer of black nylon from which hangs a skirt of a double layer of black nylon tulle applied with 8 rosettes circa 17 cm diameter of black leather and tulle with 'stamens' of single strands of black glass beads, between 30 and 6.2 cm long Label woven white on black 'Akira' 4 x 2.6 cm Underskirt has elasticated waist and is of bias cut black silk, A-line. Label as on skirt. From exhibition label, early 2000s Black tulle skirt with applied black beaded leather rosettes, silk underkirt, white tulle tee-shirt with gold embroidery over black camisole, 2001 By Akira Osagawa Bought as Ulster Museum International Designer Outfit, Autumn/Winter 2001. The young Australian/Japanese designer, in his use of layered, soft structures with heavier threads and materials used for embellishment was very much in the forefron of current trends.
