Paris - Description
- pink and gold; "Toreador" evening suit of pink and gold metallic brocade, cut as suit of lights - waist length jacket with full length set in sleeves, with padded and beaded epaulettes trimmed with sequinned, beaded, paste and gold thread tassels and bobbles, similar tassels on either side of non - fastening opening. Turnover collar and turn - back cuffs of fancy gold lame. Matching knee breeches have pink ribbon bow trim at knees, and five buttons of paste and loops cover zipped openings at knee. Side opening fastening with zip, press stud and hook.. Jacket and breeches both have seams edges trimmed with gold braid and are fully lined in light pink silk. Blouse of deep pink silk has roll - over collar with C/F buttoned opening c. 24.5 deep fastening with silk covered buttons and loops, flanked with deep double frill of a stiffer deep pink silk (same as buttons). Long gathered set in sleeves have similar frill at cuff, and paste and gilt button. Pleated cummerbund of purple corded silk, c. 11.2 cms deep fastens with hooks and press stud, the narrow end tucked under the width. Size : 36. Label woven black on white "Yves St Laurent / Paris / Made in France" with printed "47418", 9.8 x 2.7 cms.
