APPLIED ART : TEXTILES
Object Name
Cushion
Description
One of a pair of Italian needlework cushions, circa 1790. The rectangular cushion features a blooming flower in the centre, reaching across both halves of the cushion. The design has a more central featured flower as opposed to its counterpart, which is more crowded. There is balance, but not symmetry, to the design. A yellow ribbon is stretched across the base of the central flower, the only non organic motif in the design.
