- design : quilt of cream linen, backed with coarser cream linen, narrowly quilted diagonally, each quilted square 1cm x 1cm, quilting executed in tiny back stitches of pale green silk, the brilliantly coloured embroidery, worked over the quilting mostly long and short stitch, some stem stitch, french knots and laidwork. At least three shades each of green, blue, red and brown, with black, yellow and cream are worked into floral allover design, natural detail with oriental inspiration, a narrow ribbon of green silk binds edges of quilt, which may have been cut down at some stage, the pattern ends abruptly at one side.
