Description
On back of frame is stuck a piece of paper on which is written "Martha ("Mattie"), d. of Rev. Thos. Drennan, Belfast & his wife Anne Lennox, and wife of Samuel McTier. B. 1742, d. 1837. Copy by Eileen Ayrton from the original pastel." Another piece of paper stuck to back of frame contains an article "Two Ulster Patriots" by J. W. Good in Studies June 1921, describing Mrs. McTier's qualities and her correspondence with her brother Dr. William Drennan..
