mounted on wooden stretcher. THE GROUND PLAN OF BELFAST AND / THE DESIGNE FOR ERECTING A CITTADEL / UPON THE STRAND / pr. Tho. Phillips / Anno / 1685. North at bottom. Buildings in elevation, as are the partially completed Long Bridge (described as "A Bridg 2794 ft in Length") ships moored in the harbour and River Lagan. The Citadel plan is overlaid on the Lagan strand to the north of the mouth of the River Farset. In the bottom right-hand corner is written "Copied at the British Museum / by Geo. Smith Junr. C.E. / 9th Octr. 1851"..
