- Jacket of full Dress Uniform of the North Irish Horse belonging to Lord Farnham. Uniform consists of full dress jacket, trousers and underarm pouch. This uniform would have been worn for balls and other formal occasions. Lord Farnham served with the 10th Hussars in the Boer War and became a captain in the North Irish Horse in 1905. Fought in the First World War, he was transferred to the 36th Ulster Division in 1917 and was taken by the Germans as a Prisoner of War in 1918. He survived the war and died in Dublin in 1957. Dark green with white shoulder pieces, cuffs, plastron (chest) and collar patches. Paired white metal collar badges, white metal buttons 16 on front 2 on each cuff and 1 on each shoulder. Polished steel shoulder chains. Silver thread braiding on cuffs and plastron (chest piece) white piping down sleeve and 2 curved lines of piping down back. 2 vents in back tail rank markings of Major on shoulder chains. Left side of plastron sewn on right side detachable. Ribbon, for Queen's South African Medal. Tailors label named to 'Capt-Lord Farnham' 'NII Yeo'
