Ireland; County Donegal
County Donegal - Red cloth with blue collar, cuffs, shoulder straps and wings. The stand up collar is outlined with silver lace, as are the shoulder straps, wings and cuffs. Down the front are 4 pairs of buttons with silver lace loops on each side. There is a white turnback also edged with lace. The turnback on the short tail is decorated with a button on a blue felt star. From the waist on each side a length of white piping. There are two buttons on the back seams, with lace loops. Below these are two more lace loops with no buttons. The pocket flap is outlined with white and decorated with 2 pairs of buttons, on lace loops. The mouth of the pocket is at the top of the flap. The cuff which is slashed with one buttonhole and five buttons. Coat lined throughout. On an outer ribbon on the buttons the inscription "Finwater Donegall", inside this a crowned '16'. The (Loyal) Finwater Corps was a troop of Yeomanry local to Donegal.
