Description
"Dark green coat with white facings. The low collar, facings, turnbacks, pocket flaps and shoulder straps are edged with gold lace. The shoulder straps are lined with white cloth, buttoned at the top and fringed at the seam. There are 6 buttons down the front, each on a doubled loop of lace. The 3 buttons on the cuff and on the pocket flaps are on similar loops. The cuff has a ring o lace around it. On the waist at the back there are 2 buttons inside a figure eight of lace. The lace of the loops is of a different pattern tot he rest. The lining is white, the back panel is quilted. There is a loop of gold braid and a hook on the other side at the throat for fastening the coat. The buttons are gilt, featuring a Maid of Erin inside a wreath of shamrocks and are made by "J. Croker. Dame Street. Dublin".
