The Service Medal (1917 - 1921) Obverse, military figure with rifle. 4 squares in which are the arms of the 4 provinces of Eire divided by figure along bottom. Reverse, plain with spray of palm leaves to left. Ring suspender, black and tan ribbon pin broach bronze with celtic interlaced design. 1919 - 21 service medal - first issued in 1941 on the 25th anniversary of the Easter Rising for all those who fought in the War of Independence.
