NON-IRISH ANTIQUITY : GIRONA FINDS
Object Name
Ring, Gold
Description
'Heavy gold ring with a circular bezel on which are the letters IHS (the Sacred Monogram), surmounted by a cross. Beneath the monogram is a single nail of the Cross. Since the monogram was adopted by the Society of Jesus, it is possible that this ring belonged to a Jesuit on board'. From Flanagan, L. (1988) Ireland's Armada Legacy, p.177
