Cross of the Knights of Malta

Description

'Cross of the order of St John, Gold 'Maltese' Cross, each arm divided into two points; at the top is a suspension loop carrying a spiral of gold wire. Between each arm of the Cross is a small fleur-de-lys-like motif. The surface is keyed for white enamel, a small amount of which is extant. Belonged to Fabricio Spinola, Captain of the Girona'.
