Description
Pot : food vessel : pygmy cup
Biconical Cup. Said to have been found "in a rath". No further details known. Decorated all over with rows of circular indentations arranged within horizontal zones and occasional incised chevrons. Only in the upper half of the vessel do they perforate the wall. Directly on the shoulder of the vessel are two perforations, 4cm apart. These are different to the other holes but like the perforations which frequently occur on other Pygmy vessels. Base decorated with an incised chequered pattern. Ware is red, thick and well bonded.
