A collection of black and white photographs taken by J.R. (James Roland) Bainbridge and his son, Peter. The photographs show people engaged at work in rural and industrial settings, including railroad maintenance, engineering and industry, tying hay, roof thatching, turf cutting, hand spinning, basket-making, fishing, ploughing and a series of photographs of digging and blasting an oil well. There are also images of an Orange parade outside the Linen Hall Library, a tractor rally, a milkman with a horse and cart, towns and landscapes, including the Antrim Coast and Wicklow, local landmarks, the Causeway Tram and car and motorcycle racing at Craigantlet, Ards and Kirkistown.
