Scope and content
This archive consists of books, pamphlets and correspondence belonging to and compiled by the renowned photographer, Robert John Welch. The majority of items relate to his interest in natural history and zoology, with an emphasis on Mollusca. Many are Ex Libris and contain inserted pages with extensive notes by Welch. Also notes and photographs on railways, large photographs from the "Red Hand" series, including Barnesmore Gap, Rosapenna, Fair Head, and the Bundoran Hotel, and correspondence re: a BBC broadcast of Ulster in Focus, on which Welch was the photographer.
