Letter to John's brother, Hugh. John says he is relieved that Hugh's wife recieved the ring he had sent. Speaks of how the ship he has been on, His Majesty's Ship the St. George, is due to leave as soon as possible - the admiral has recieved word that Napoleon's army is within fifteen miles of Cadiz and they are to reinforce their Spanish allies. Also describes how one shipman killed another member of the crew in a tavern a few days before over an argument. Sent from the HMS St. George at Portsmouth to Hugh Cleland Esq. at Downpatrick.
