Cleland letter
Scope and content
Letter from John Cleland to his uncle. John writes he is glad his uncle has come around to his trip to London. As for what he wants John says a coat, hat and pair of pantaloons will be all for he has many shirts already. John says he will need a good sum of money - it will take 20 guineas to buy his instruments, and with him having to but his own bed and bedclothes he reckons 40 guineas overall should suffice. Sent from Glasgow to Ballynahinch.
