Dr George Barton Thompson OBE (6 August 1925 - 2 August 2021) was appointed as the first Director of the Ulster Folk Museum. He retired in 1986 and was awarded a Doctor of Science by Queen’s University, Belfast, and a Doctor of Letters by Ulster University.
The archive includes legislative papers, journal articles, lectures, Ulster Folk Museum leaflets and maps, ephemera from American tours, work diaries, correspondence, commissioned reports and articles relating to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and documentation of other organisations. - Contents
