Philip Woods Collection
These photographs were taken by Philip Woods, a photography student at the London College of Printing (now the London College of Communication).
Woods came to Northern Ireland in 1976-77 on the basis of a Kodak one-year bursary. His brief was to document everyday life during the Troubles focussing in particular on those involved in encouraging reconciliation and the efforts being made to address social problems. The photographs he took record peace rallies and demonstrations, women’s groups, youth activities and community life.
