Stereoscope Photograph showing a view of Hindenberg line fortifications as seen from the air. ‘Formidable fortifications in noted Hindenburg line mapped by aerial observer at 8000 ft’ This fortified line was built mainly in North East France in 1915/1916 using Russian POWS for the construction. However at the Battle of Cambrai and later in 1918, it was successfully breached.
