Stereoscope Photograph showing a view of size of Zeppelin shot down over Colchester. ‘Zeppelin shot down near Colchester: even with its back broken it towers over nearby farmhouses’ Zeppelins conducted approximately 50 raids over Britain, causing fear , damage and loss of life. Zeppelin souvenirs became popular, consisting of pieces of metal from the wrecked aircraft.
