Stereoscope Photograph showing a view of soldiers advancing. ‘Through smoke and gas our infantry advance to the final assault of Passchendaele Ridge’ The gas used in this battle by the Germans was Mustard Gas, which was virtually invisible, unlike Chlorine, and could cause a slow and terrible death.
