Stereoscope Photograph showing a view of three British soldiers advancing through trees. 'Our troops charge forward into Bernafray Wood to dislodge the Bosche from their entrenchments.' Bernafay Wood was seized by Scottish troops in July Somme offensive in July 1916. It was retaken by the Germans in 1918, then recaptured in the final few months of the war.
