Stereoscope Photograph showing a view of armed German pill-box on height. 'Last word in Hun defence, a baffling Pill-box at Bullecourt, scene of sanguinary fighting. Fortified pill-boxes were thus named after the similarly shaped boxes in which men received their tablets, when sick. They were usually 30 feet by 10 feet in dimensions.
