Description

Piece of Mansion House Flag, Dublin, pulled down in a riot during the Second Boer War, 1900. The riot occurred on March 1st 1900 outside the Mansion House in Dublin, after the British relief of Ladysmith, between students from Trinity College. One side was waving Union Jacks and cheering the Queen and General Roberts, and another crowd was cheering the Boers and their leader Kruger.
