Description: Gallaher Collection; BENSON & HEDGES Showcard. 'Benson & Hedges King Size Cigarettes Filter Tipped' 4'6 for 20, 2'3 for 10. With fold-out stand at back for counter display. Benson & Hedges was founded in 1873 by R. Benson & W. Hedges. A Royal Warrant was issued to the British company in 1878, after the required 5 years of supply to the Royal Family. This was revoked in 1999 due to "a lack of demand in the Royal Households." The Warrant Seal, which had previously been on the flip lid of the box was removed. Gallaher acquired Benson & Hedges Ltd in the UK in 1955.
