Gallaher Collection; DU MAURIER showcard. 'I Like Du Maurier.' Small showcard, cut-out shape of bust of glamorous woman holding a packet of red Du Maurier, highlighting it's appeal marketed towards women. Fold-out stand at back for counter display. The Du Maurier cigarette was launched in 1903 by Peter Jackson Ltd. after the actor Gerald du Maurier had made requests for 'a cigarette less irritating to his throat.' Peter Jackson were a subsidiary of the International Tobacco Co., which was taken over by Gallaher Ltd. in 1934.
