Gallaher Collection; KENSITAS Showcard, 'Fifties' Christmas holly decorations around edge, 'An ideal gift.' Silk textile of flowers on front, advertising each packet to contain a silk woven motif of flowers. With fold-out stand at back for counter display.
In 1926 J. Wix introduced a coupon trading scheme and in 1930 it extended coupon trading to the Kensitas brand, with successful results. Kensitas were the first brand to introduce woven silk inserts in their packets of cigarettes. The Kensitas brand was acquired by Gallaher Limited in 1962.
