Description

Democratic Ulster Party poster, black, blue and red on white with two photographs of weapons and image of Union Flag. 'Save the Union.' For Referendum 1973. The referendum asked voters whether they wished Northern Ireland to remain part of the UK or alternatively to become part of a united Ireland. The result showed 98.9% of valid votes in favour of remaining part of the UK but many nationalists boycotted the vote and the turnout was a relatively low 58.7%.
