Perahera tray, brass, chased decoration as follows; central panel - shrine or temple, elephant, giants, dancers, attendants, Kandyan Chiefs and Sun-banners; outer border - sword bearer and water bearers, musicians, dancers and fly-switches Original record made by Dr G B Thompson, October 1949; 'memento of annual Perahera Procession in Kandy (former hill capital of Ceylon); commemorates victory of Sinhalese over Tamil invaders 2000 years ago'.
