The Oral History Society was founded in 1973 with regional representation in GB and Northern Ireland. Its aim is the promotion, collection, preservation and use of recorded memories and in facilitating and developing the use of oral history. Members include social scientists, archivists and broadcasters, working in community projects, libraries, museums, archives and academic institutions.
