W.A. (William Alfred) Green

Scope and content

William Alfred Green (W.A.) was born in Newry in 1870. A boarder at Friend's School in Lisburn, he later moved to Belfast and became a member of The Belfast Naturalist Field Club and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Antiquities of Ireland. An apprentice of Welsh, Green progressed to start his own photographic business and was particularly renowned for capturing agricultural practices and folk customs. This archive is part of a wider collection held in UFTM.
