- Don Patterson, a maritime research fellow at Queen’s University Belfast in the early 1970s, was seemingly in correspondence with several people from Great Britain and Scandinavian countries; specifically, Bergens Sjøfartsmuseum in Norway. Despite the omission of any finished research, his exchange with others through letters, research notes, photocopies, and original drawings greatly emphasises connections in the history of Irish and Scandinavian fishing industries and boatbuilding.
