- Don Patterson, a maritime research fellow at Queen’s University Belfast in the early 1970s, was seemingly in possession of many older documents from Robert Buchan. Contents: object memory drawing by Robert Buchan in 1925; Kelvin Diesel, Marine Engines of Quality; a tally book containing upside-down printed parts (1942); blank Irish certificate delivery of goods for estates with a reference written on the back dated 1928; a stock book from Letterkenny in 1943; a letter from The Irish Sea Fisheries Association Ltd. to Mr. Buchan; pages from a Helm Parts booklet from The Bergius Company LTD (1938); a memorandum of the early BIM in 1947; various building plans; Kelvin Jockey Pulley informational booklet from 1947; three booklets from The Bergius Company LTD (1945); various undated ship plans and drawings from BIM; a Mevagh Boatyard ship drawing plan from 1941; other ship plans, drawings, and written notes or letters belonging to Mr. Buchan, all undated; folder with a newspaper clipping photo of a Spanish fishing boat; photocopies of a text on French fishing boats; a brief note on Dutch fishing boats dated 1942; photocopies of ship plans, typescript, and ship plans; and a photocopy of the Bulletin 127, United States National Museum Catalogue of the Watercraft Collection.
