A collection of just over 1000 artworks, covering multiple media, obtained by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland over a forty year period, was gifted to the National Museum NI art collection in 2012. Featuring works by over 350 artists with a connection to Northern Ireland; Colin Middleton represents the most by one individual, with 110 paintings and drawings created between 1933 and 1985.
